Their area of responsibility extends from Clonee, East to Ratoath, West as far as Kilcloon and extends North to Tara, the well known historic site.

Within a growing population, their services are regularly in demand and consequently we are seeing an increase in call-outs.

Their open day will give you a chance to seen first hand the professional way these highly trained firemen operate. It will include a road traffic collision extraction demonstration.

There will be plenty of advice and handy tips to help keep you and your family safe and the children will love the sirens! Ear muffs are optional!!

Why not join us on the Dunshaughlin Most Haunted Ghost Tour – if you dare.

Dunshaughlin through the years has seen its share of massacres, hangings and murders.

Many locals report spooky goings on, unexplained footsteps, moving furniture, and strange sightings……

Has the exorcised spirit of Rowley Cooke escaped to once again terrify the peasants of Dunshaughlin?

Will we make it without a sighting of that big black dog with the raving, red eyes?

Ah! and then there’s the cloven-hoofed stranger who entices people to drink and gamble – well you wouldn’t be doing it of your own free will now, would you?

Hand-made Italian terracotta tiles, low slung table lights are set against simple stripped back white walls that act as a gallery space for revolving art exhibitions.

The tables are laid in modern Italian fashion, with solid cutlery, beautiful glassware and linen napkins – the contrast to the simple and pure setting is striking. Yet all elements contribute to the restaurant’s authentic but modernist atmosphere.

There is always something new going on – the ‘Unicorn Foodstore’ round the corner, on Merrion Row, is a relatively recent addition to the enterprise, for example, also the Unicorn Antipasto/Tapas Bar – and there is now a bar menu in the piano bar, which is a fair indication of the popularity of this buzzing restaurant.

The Farm is owned and operated by an Irish family who have been involved in the hospitality industry in Dublin for 40 years, together with their General Manager Tony Kelly And head chef Nick Gonta.

The decision to open the Farm in 2007 was three years in the making and came about by the obvious requirement by the public for better, healthier, and traceable fresh and even in some cases Organic food. Having thought about this and discussed it at length for what seemed like an eternity it was decided that the Farm concept would become a reality, with our mission statement as “Affordable, tasty, homemade and locally sourced. As much organic and or free range as we can, healthy vegetables and fresh herbs”. This mission statement has served us well and the Farm has been warmly embraced by locals and visitors alike.

In addition to a creative and sumptuous menu, which features traditional steaks and Ireland’s native seafood combined with hearty side dishes and exquisite pastries, Shanahan’s has the finest in gracious service. The elegance of the food and service, however, is maintained in perfect harmony with the warmth, which personifies Ireland’s population, and a casual atmosphere that allows each patron to feel at home. From “The Oval Office”, the restaurant’s downstairs bar featuring historical documents and mementoes from each of America’s presidents of Irish Heritage to the dining and private rooms which reflect the exquisite Irish workmanship of both the building’s heritage and today, Shanahan’s is a blend of both cultures and history.

A place to dine quietly in beautiful classically proportioned rooms featuring original 18th Century plaster work and rare antiques from the Georgian period.

Luigi Malones is a unique blend of great value and exciting international foods, offering exclusive imported wines, world wide beers and speciality cocktails. An original part of the historic Dublin City Wall is displayed within the restaurant. This wall which incorporated part of the Augustinian Friary dating to 1260 was discovered when digging the foundations for the restaurant. It is a matter of historical record that at least two murders were commited in 1379 within the precincts of the Friary.

Also underneath was ceramic tile, depicting ‘The Rampant Lion’ (nicknamed The Devil’s Tile) believed to be the oldest tile ever found in Ireland. The original tile was donated to the National Museum and replica is now displayed in the wall. The limestone flagstones on the floor mark our the location of the old city wall.
